 2   CFPD Board / Ask Dr Dick/Dr Fred / Use of runners, diary update  on: Jul 29th, 2003, 12:40pm

Send us your ideas on the use of runners in matches.
Points to note;
1) Runners complicate the game for our able bodied Cricketers, right up to and includind test cricketers. Disabled cricketers often have enough problems to cope with already.

2) The changes we make must not leave our game open to abuse. Just like the able bodied game our captains and managers (quite rightly), are out to win the game, they somtimes can get carried away or misinterpret the laws.

3) Some players are at a considerable disadvantage when taking a run because of their disability.

We will hold a workshop at our next AGM, on the use of runners.  The AGM is usually the first week in December.

Please note,
Some dates are already confirmed for next year as follows; March 15th Lords, July 11th Luctonians, July 25th Newport.
Please put these dates in your diary so they do not clash with other fixtures for next season.

The correct date for the Lords Test matches is Monday March 17th, commencing at 10 am.
There will be some famous people from the cricket world as well as the MPs, playing in the celebrity match.
Dont miss it.
